Colleen when she is turned into a fearling by Pitch. I liked this one because it really shows her expression: filled with hate, anger, bitterness as well as stubbornness since her past is filled with a lot of hurt.
When the fearling possessed Colleen, it brings out the worst in her. She becomes cold-hearted, irascible, hateful, and sadistic. She prefers terrifying adults to children since she feels children are too easy and adults are more of a challenge (which she likes) and have fears that are deep seeded from their past and present. This fearling enjoys the suffering of her victims when she creates their nightmares, exploiting their fears and playing mind games until their breaking point.
Wanting to forget her former life, she chooses a name for herself, going by either Dark Angel or the Banshee. Her powers are similar to Pitch's, yet fueled with her rage, she can create very powerful nightmares and fears. Dark Angel also uses the black sand to create very negative feelings--bitterness, envy/jealousy, vengeance, and unceasing and uncontrollable rage. Sometimes, but rarely she will use the Banshee Wail--a bloodcurdling loud piercing scream that is excruciatingly painful to mortal and spirits' hearing. The more angry she is, the powerful her scream is.
Her only weakness is that she is mortal, prone to any kind of fatal attacks. She is Pitch's first mortal and adult female fearling he created. Her other weakness is her temper and stubbornness as well as arrogance. Pitch warns her that while her anger is a powerful weapon, it can also be a weakness: it could distract her from her focus. Her stubbornness often is a problem between them, resulting in punishments by the Nightmare King.
Pitch created her to command his Army of Darkness, liking that her leadership skills were strong, her cunning military planning (since Pitch was once a General in his former life), her cold demeanor, and her need to dominate. At times, she does remind him of his own daughter Emily (Mother Nature). The two have a stormy relationship: while Colleen is willing to serve her Lord and command his Army of Darkness, her stubbornness and rage are often a hot button issue between them. She often acts like a sullen, spoiled teenager and yet, they do have a father/daughter love at times; she feels Pitch is the loving father she had desired all her life since her own father, Lt. Frank, shut her out.
She has a Nightmare named Oiche, which means 'night' in Irish Gaelic.
